Tire Description

The Ventus S1 evo is Hankook's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans. The Ventus S1 evo is designed and built for improved durability by minimizing distortion at high speeds and high temperatures. Like all summer tires, the Ventus S1 evo is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. The Ventus S1 evo radials feature Hankook's Highly Dispersible Silica (HDS) compound molded into an asymmetric tread design that features continuous ribs to reduce noise while increasing longitudinal stiffness to enhance braking performance on dry roads. Wide circumferential grooves and large shoulder notches help water flow through the tire's footprint to resist hydroplaning. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by two-ply high-density, spirally wrapped jointless nylon. Additionally, a two-layer rayon carcass that sandwiches a hard sidewall filler between the body cord plies helps resist distortion at high speeds and while cornering.

This is my 3rd set of hankooks in as many years; unfortunately the cars did not stick around long enough to get to really know them. the first set i used for a/b 20,000 and they still had 3/4 tread left and were a really nice set of all-seasons in the optimo family. didn't push them too hard but ultra quiet from what i remember. the second set i believe were the k106. only got to use these for approx. 3000 miles but they were great. good dry wet traction all around and again ultra quiet. the current tire, the k107 are starting out on the right foot as well. i was really gentle with these tires during the 500 mile break-in period but as soon as i hit 501 i've been letting them have it. i give it excellent marks all around sans winter/cold weather driving. we recently had 2 major rain/thunderstorms and these tires tracked down the flooded highway at 80 mph with 0 problems. i couldn't believe how well they ran in all that water. when it's not raining i put them through the ringer in the on/off ramps and straight aways on the highway. i believe these are a 168+ mph tire. well they've been up to 144 and felt mint. i will definately continue to purchase hankooks in the future and i recommend hankooks to other drivers of high performance sedans.
