Standard Touring All-Season tires are for drivers who want a combination of sporty appearance, long wear, predictable handling and S- or T-speed rated durability, along with all-season traction including in light snow. Standard Touring All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sporty coupes and sedans. O.E. Standard Touring All-Season tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires’ performance category and specifications.

The standard tire for an MGB is a 175/70/14. At the recommendation of some MGB gearheads, I decided to change to a lower profile 195/60/14. After reading dozens of reviews on TireRack, I selected a set of the Kumhos. Wow! What a great choice so far. Granted, I only have 200 miles on them, but I cant believe the improvement in handling and responsiveness. As for road noise - what road noise? Lets make this clear: Im driving a 31 year old, largely unrestored convertible, 40 miles on a highway each day, and there is absolutely NO ROAD NOISE. All I hear is my engine and exhaust. Unbelievable! If things continue at this rate, I may be a Kumo and TireRack customer for life. And to top it all off, 3 days after installation I took 3rd place in the Western New York MG Clubs car show, in the rubber bumper division.
